Upgrades for Systronix aJile-based systems are available. After a long period of no new tools or runtimes, aJile is now releasing new versions on a regular basis. Systronix adds additional files and support for JStamp/JStik/SaJe hardware and sells those releases for a modest price.

If you have purchased a JStamp, JStik, or SaJe Development Kit (not just the OEM modules), you get free updates for 90 days . Contact us if you have made such a purchase and need a store coupon. After the free update period you can purchase updates in the online store in the "software updates" area, or purchase another dev kit such as the SaJe dev kit closeout special.

aJile CLDC 1.1 in release 4.X -- after you upgrade, try using the new tools. Problems? See this Debug page and these pages on JemBuilder and Charade.

aJile Upgrade Versions
aJile 4.4.02 (2008 Feb 16)
Details

Key features:

  • All current patches/additions/fixes are now included in the release! This includes serial, SPI, I2C and the small flash file system.
  • Just two install files to run!
  • SaJe configurations are included
  • Several discrepancies and inconsistencies in the various Systronix configurations have been fixed.
  • GC performance has been enhanced 2x to 3x depending on the heap state

Known issues:

  • JemBuilder and Charade file operations over a network are slow. Linking and loading will run 10X faster if you use a local hard drive for the binary output files vs a remote drive on gigabit ethernet.
  • Mark and Sweep is the only GC option supported. Don't try others -- unless you want crashes or other unpredictable results.
aJile 4.3.03 (2007 Oct 02)
Details

  • CLDC 1.1 support
  • All new TCP/IP Stack

Known issues:

  • Installation is a somewhat complicated, multi-step process (documented in the instructions page)
