More than you ever thought an 8051 could do! Running at 40 MHz, the DS80C390 controller executes many instructions at 10 MIPs. It also includes 32/16 bit math acceleration hardware. You can address 4 Mbytes of code or data in a true 'flat' 24-bit address space (uCAN2 has 1 MByte of each). uCAN2 has two full CAN 2.0B network interfaces, two UARTs, 4 KBytes of on-chip code or data SRAM, and more. Incidentally, this is the controller used in the Dallas TINI Java module. The Systronix uCAN2 development system adds a low noise switching power supply, MicroLan/iButton port, DS1820 temperature sensor, SBX expansion, clock and calendar, pushbuttons and LED indicators, and 1 MByte of high-speed SRAM for code and data. uCAN2 accepts Intel HEX files over its RS232 serial port using the Systronix smart serial loader. Note: uCAN2 is intended for application development at the full rated controller speed of 40 MHz. High speed SRAM is the only memory capable of supporting this, and it is not practical to battery-back it. An on-board MaxCap retains code and data for about two minutes in the absence of external power. uCAN2 does not contain a nonvolatile program store such as Flash memory. |
