SunSPOT Application Brain for TrackBot

SunSPOT makes an excellent application brain for TrackBot. One SPOT kit gives you a base station and two mobile SPOTs - enough for two TrackBots.

To mount SPOT to TrackBot you need the plastic clip which comes with your SPOT kit and some mounting hardware. The SunSPOT-to-TrackBot cable connects SPOT's serial port to TrackBot. (You will need to solder the header we provide into the SPOT eDemo board.) You will also want a charger (or use your own 1 amp max 7.2V R/C charger with our Tamiya adapter), an AVRISP2 programmer for updating TrackBot firmware, and a short USB cable for powering and recharging SPOT from the TrackBot power system.

If you already have SPOTs, you can get everything else you need in our TrackBot-SPOT Starter Kit below. Order at least one of those. If you will be ordering multiple TrackBots, you can then order TrackBot BASIC and additional cables "ala carte". For example, you can share a battery charger with two or three TrackBots.

USB Cable: A to Mini 5, short

Connects phones, hard disks and other devices to a PC.
Provides operation and recharging power from TrackBot to SunSPOT or other USB powered Application Brain. (TrackBot's USB A provides power only, no data).
Short 31 cm (12.2 inches) is ideal for TrackBot and other applications where a 1 meter cable gets in the way. This short length is insanely hard to find and costs more than then longer ones (go figure).
Also compatible with other USB devices such as Motorola Razr phones, USB hard drives, and more. Short length is capable of sourcing enough current to power many low-power, portable USB 2.5-inch hard drives directly (without an external power adapter).
